His path led from Istanbul Kabataş Erkek Lisesi to medical school at Karadeniz Technical University and residency training at Uludağ University. At Uludağ he performed a wide range of operations over more than six years—hand surgery, burn and tumor surgery, congenital anomalies, microsurgery, as well as aesthetic/reconstructive procedures—followed by roles in a private hospital, his own practice in Kütahya, and a period as a university lecturer.
